Coldwater Recreation Area
The Coldwater Recreation Area is located in
Florida’s largest state park, Blackwater River State Forest, home to one
of the largest remaining stands of longleaf pine trees located in
America, in its’ 206,000 acres.
You will find a stable capable of housing up to 134 horses (includes enclosed stalls, open paddocks & covered paddocks), kennels available for 124 dogs and 68 campsites with water & electricity hookups. Since opening in 1970 of the facility has been host to Bird dog field trials. Blackwater River State Forest has thousands of horseback riders to use their trails every year for competitions, organized rides & day rides. With several beautiful, clear shifting sand bottom streams, wiregrass, juniper, longleaf and hardwoods, the scenery makes a trail ride on the Coldwater horse trails a memorable experience. Florida State Law requires all equines entering into Florida from other states to have a Health Certificate. Park Address to be used for Equine Health Certificates: Coldwater Recreation Area 8409 Horseshoe Loop Milton, FL 32570 Fees:Campsites are $15.00 per day. Senior campers 65 or older and disabled campers showing proof of 100% disability pay $8.00 per day. A horse fee of $5.00/day is charged per stable and covered stall. A horse fee of $3.00/day is charged per paddock or corral. Day Use fee is $2.00 per horse rider. No day use fee is charged to those that are paying for a stall, paddock or corral.
